I went to Kidd Pivot in the pouring rain on Wednesday night with the greatest reluctance, but oh baby, was I glad I braved the storm. I would add to Barry's excellent take that I thought it was highly political piece that worked aesthetically; Pite is a phenomenal performer as Barry points out, but she's an equally skilled craftswoman--dyanamics, timing, pace were all beautifully handled and what I interpreted as rage at wasted lives in war was powerfully contained and therefore beautiful to watch. This was one of the best things White Bird has brought us and I urge Art Scatter readers who've not seen it to run,not walk to do so tonight.
